Welcome! to my homepage.
I am an Associate Professor at the School of Computing and Informatics, at University of Louisiana Lafayette. I received NSF CAREER Award in Computer Network Systems (CNS/CSR) in 2021 and I am the director of High Performance Cloud Computing laboratory (HPCC lab) at the school. My research team concentrates on developing smart systems operating in the Edge-to-Cloud Continuum and exploring new generation of serverless Cloud systems. Our goal is to innovate in the forefront of scientific discovery and build intelligent platforms that can impact the human's life and can make the world a better place to live!
I started as an Assistant Professor at UL Lafayette in 2014 and prior to that, I was a post-doctoral associate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Miami (2013-2014), and at Colorado State University respectively (2012-2013). I have completed my PhD at the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory, at Melbourne University, Australia, under the supervision of Professor Rajkumar Buyya. My PhD thesis was on resource allocation based on Virtual Machine preemption in distributed systems.
I have completed my Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Software Engineering at Ferdowsi University (2006) and Azad University of Mashhad (2003), respectively. From 2006 to 2008, I was a lecturer at the Computer Software Engineering department, at Azad University of Mashhad.
