Welcome to my webpage!
I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Informatics at University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Prior to this, I was a post-doctoral researcher in Interdisciplinary Center for Network Science and Application at University of Notre Dame (2014-2017) headed by Dr. Nitesh Chawla. I earned my PhD from Proactive Health Laboratory, at Indiana University, Bloomington, under the supervision of Professor Kay Connelly. My dissertation was about Design and Evaluation of a Nutrition Monitoring Mobile Application for Low Literacy Populations.
I am heading Design & Data Nest where our goal is to apply design thinking and data analytics to solve social, health and ethical problems.
Broadly speaking, my research interests lie at the intersection of pervasive/mobile computing, human-computer interaction and health informatics. In my previous work, I have combined user-centered design thinking with community-engaged research methodologies to implement socio-technical systems to address health and social issues in Medicaid populations.
Tools, theories and guidelines to design and evaluate systems that align with the needs and goals of the user.
Technological advancements have created the need to design technologies for new paradigms of computing.
