I am passionate about
discovering knowledge or the underlying mechanism by
integrating and analyzing massive disparate data sets.
Machine learning, particularly the deep learning with
sufficient data sets will help to select the appropriate
features that improve the outcome of classifiers. We have
successfully applied deep learning (convolution neural
network) for structural alignment and annotation of proteins
from their structures.
In summary, I am interested in developing algorithm and
models that will help us to discover functional motifs in
protein structures, miRNA binding sites, and causal chains
that lead to driver genes for cancer.
