I am a computer science Ph.D. candidate and a graduate research assistant at the Informatics Research Institute, University of Louisiana. I have got my B.Sc degree in computer science and automatic control engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt, in 2001. I have got an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology - Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AAST), Egypt, 2011. I have also got an M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2016. I have more than 15 years of professional experience in many roles as a senior systems engineer, a software developer, and a teaching assistant. My research focus is on designing machine learning algorithms and deep learning-based systems for automating medical diagnosis. My case study is epileptic seizures' detection and prediction using EEG raw signals.

Hisham is a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Engineering program at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research interest includes biomedical signal processing, machine learning, deep learning, and neuromorphic computing. In his dissertation, he develops deep learning methods for diagnosis, prediction and localization of epileptic seizures. Before commencing his graduate studies at University of Louisiana, Hisham has held multiple positions in both industry and academia.
